One of our clients was away on holiday without access to the internet. He did, however, want to keep moving on the documentary project we were working on. The first draft of the graphics were completed and we wanted to get them to him for his approval.

So we encoded them for 3G on the Avid, transferred them to a memory card, put the card in a mobile and sent it out as a video message. Within a few moments, the client was sat on the beach watching the clip. He give comments and we moved on to draft two.

There are limitations of course; the quality was not great, and on a mobile to mobile situation there are restrictions in terms of duration. However, as a tool for reaching those Clients who want to be reached but can’t necessarily get to the internet, it more than did the job, and kept us moving towards completing the project on time!
