Goal:
Create an eye-catching animation that stands out on a exhibition stand, while fitting in with how the stand looks.

When Capgemini approached us to create a conference stand video for the Farnborough International Airshow, they had one clear goal: draw people’s attention to their offering. The solution? An eye-catching, sound-enhanced animation that could cut through the noise of a busy event and keep audiences engaged.

Together, we created a story around Jiani, a environmental expert travelling to the Airshow to give a talk. Along her journey, we showed how Capgemini’s cutting-edge technology empowers people to make more environmentally conscious decisions about travel. This was a particularly important message in the aerospace context of Farnborough.

Getting the details right

We had just a couple of weeks to deliver, and our three clients were busy with all the other aspects of creating a stand as well.  Our team kept a close eye on timing and all the little creative details. We pushed to make sure everything landed exactly right — and making sure we were explaining and showing technology in a way that made sense. While sometimes we feel like we’re pestering the client, they usually appreciate our tenacity when we get the project across the line. The team said:

Knowing that the environment would be noisy, we created a conference stand video without voiceover. Instead, we used animated text and clear visuals to get the message across. To add a sense of progression, we introduced a timeline that ran along the bottom of the video. This showed not only Jiani’s journey from the States to the UK but also tracked viewers’ position in the story. This meant new arrivals to the stand instantly understand how much of the animation remained.

Creating the look of the conference stand video

We developed the animation using Capgemini’s branding, ensuring it was in visual alignment with their presence at the show. Meanwhile, sound effects helped catch viewer’s attention, even in the bustle of the exhibition floor.
