Goal:
Filming a relaxed corporate interview to reveal a business announcement

When people think about filming corporate interviews, they often imagine a formal Q&A setup with one person speaking directly to camera. Some of the most engaging business films come from capturing a genuine conversation between two people who know the subject inside out.

Recently, we filmed a discussion between leaders from Capgemini and Additive Catchments announcing their collaboration. Rather than creating a heavily scripted corporate piece, the aim was to make the audience feel as though they were sitting in the room listening to an authentic exchange.

To achieve that, we used a simple but highly effective three-camera setup; one on each speaker, a third on a wider two-shot of the conversation. This gave us flexibility in the edit and allowed the discussion to feel natural and fluid, while still maintaining pace and visual interest.

When you’ve got two experince professionals who’ve worked together, having the conversation is the easy part and it tends to flow naturally. The trickier bits are the introduction and ending.

The introduction needs to feel confident and clear from the very first sentence. For this project, we used an autocue to help deliver a polished opening directly to camera before transitioning naturally into the discussion.

Equally important is knowing exactly how to finish. Without preparation, conversations can drift into awkward pauses or uncertain glances toward the camera. Spending a little time rehearsing the opening and closing beforehand ironically makes the final film feel effortless and spontaneous.
