Goal:

Earlier in the year we filmed a road safety video series for the West Midlands Road Safety Partnership. It was a joint creative venture with B3 Online, a marketing and communications agency that specialises in communicating responsibly with children and youth. The content was targeted at young people.

The aim was to address anti-social rather than illegal behaviour, not just in drivers but with passengers as well. We worked with both B3 and the WMRSP to workshop how we could translate the behaviours into funny scenes that would resonate with young people.

When it came to finding budding actors, we enlisted local talent. We cast each role by contacting two local youth groups and drama clubs.

Filming in March is always a challenge. The weather was bitterly cold, despite some of the sunny shots. This made it challenging for actors stood on the pavement for each take. In spring days are short and the light changes quickly, warming up and cooling down as the sun rises and falls. Once we finished the editing the film, we took it for a grade at Azimuth to even out the look of the film.

We’ve just completed the road safety video series and you can watch them below.
